Reducing and reusing our waste

Towards a circular industry
Most of the materials we throw out are steel and wood scrap.
While our industrial activity still generates scrap today, we aim to make our business more circular.
Objective 1 : Reduce volumes of waste
Like all stories, this one has some challenges. Here, we can do (much) better. While we are making progress on all other indicators, the volume of waste we generated increased by 20% between 2022 and 2023, due to scrap metal waste from old, decommissioned materials that had been left on our production sites.
Our next project is to reduce our volumes of waste and improve our waste management system by conducting awareness and poster campaigns to better inform our employees.
Objective 2 : Reuse our waste
Recycling our office waste (cans, bottles, paper, cardboard)
Testimonial :
“To reuse our office waste, we established a partnership with ELISE, an organisation that employs people with disabilities. In the first year, this partnership enabled us to reuse 2,547 kg of waste, 80% of which was paper.“
Vianney Lacroix, SEU Manager
Reusing our wood waste as a secondary raw material*
*Secondary raw material refers to a material from waste recycling that can replace a virgin raw material.
Testimonial :
“We set up a system to collect and sort our waste. We have been collecting and repairing our broken pallets since the start of the year. Currently, the rest of our wood waste is recycled. Our goal is to reuse 100% of our wood waste by 2026. We also give cardboard a second life by using it as protection for our shipments. We have also installed rainwater collection barrels. These everyday initiatives help us limit our consumption and our carbon footprint, while also generating savings.”
